POLYGONS
Polygons are shapes made up of line segments that form a closed path. Polygons are given names like octagon, decagon, and hexagon which are based on the number of line segments that make the shape.
QUADRILATERALS
Quadrilaterals are four-sided polygons. Some quadrilaterals are found so often in nature and in man-made objects that they are given special names such as square, rectangle, parallelogram, rhombus, and trapezoid based on properties defined for the shape.
