4)

_________ has a polygon for its base and triangles for its sides which meet at one vertex

250 character(s) left

5)

__________ has a curved surface, a circular base, and one vertex

7)

Now let’s make a cylinder. Notice the cylinder has two circular faces and one face that make a rectangle when it is laid out flat. Click here to print out the net. Cut out this net and construct a cylinder. Fold the flaps. Use small pieces of tape on the flaps to hold the side and two tops together. State one keyword that will help you remember the shape of a cylinder.

3-D Cube Models

17)

Pictured is a 3-D object made from marshmallows and toothpicks. The colored squares were put on the shape to show one side’s 2-D view. Build a 3-D object made from cubes. Use at least ten cubes. You may use more. If you don't have cube blocks, look around the house for something to make cubes with. One easy way is to use toothpicks and marshmallows. Build the cube by using the marshmallows as vertices and the toothpicks as edges. Then stack them like cubes. These are fun to make. How many cubes did you use for your 3-D object?

19)

Sketch three different 2-D views for the 3-D structure you created in #15. Describe the sketch for each view by stating how many squares are in the view and how they are positioned.
