BASICS OF PERCENT PROBLEMS

In this unit, you will look at skills to prepare you for solving problems with percents. You will look at two different methods for finding the three types of percent problems: percent, part, and base. You will examine the “is/of” method first and then the percent box method. You can choose which method works best for you. You will then look at finding equivalent percents and decimals, equivalent decimals and fractions, and equivalent fractions and percents. To wrap up the unit, you will tie fractions, decimals, and percents together by comparing a mix of all three.
