Section A: Unit Notes

Triangles are described either by the length of their sides or the size of their angles.

Triangles are congruent if they have the same sides and the same angles.

Some triangles are defined according to the length of their sides.

Equilateral Triangle

· Three equal sides

· Three equal angles, always 60^o

Isosceles Triangle

· lengths of two sides are equal.

· Two of the angles are equal.

Scalene Triangle

· no equal sides

· no equal angles
