Unit Overview

In this unit, you will learn about different types of taxes and why people pay them. At the beginning of the module, you will read statements about taxes and decide which ones they agree with.  You will learn what public goods and services are and then explore various types of taxes, including income, payroll, consumption, and property.

This module will cover why taxes are taken out of a paycheck, along with the benefits of paying taxes. You will get an overview of the parts of a paycheck and typical deductions for taxes and benefits.
