PROBABILITY OF DIFFERENT EVENTS

Probability is the likelihood of an event occurring. Simple probability is a ratio of the number of favorable outcomes compared to all possible outcomes. In the study of compound probability, there are dependent events and independent events. Two events are independent events if the occurrence of one event has no effect on the likelihood of the occurrence of the other event. A dependent event is the probability of a second event happening, depending on the outcome of the first event.
